Wasserschloss Podelwitz in Colditz

Were on the 2nd Advent (December 6th, 2020) for the caravan dinner at the Wasserschloss Podelwitz - super great idea and dinner with the finest 3-course menu. Menu and drinks were lovingly brought to our mobile home. Thank you to the whole team, it was a delicious treat and a wonderful 2nd Advent. We would love to come back and will definitely recommend you. :)

A very nice destination, but the outdoor facilities look a bit neglected at the moment!

Thank you for the fantastic time, please don't lose heart, and as soon as you can open again: 1 table for 4 people, please. Whenever that will be, we'll be back. Until then, stay healthy 😊

Recommended because the castle is located directly on the Mulde and houses a small GDR museum.

A beautiful place in the Muldental, with a café and a beautiful castle with overnight accommodation. Sure, you could do something more with place.

Food and ambience are good. Is recommended. The staff is friendly.

A nice castle from the outside. From the inside, it leaves a lot to be desired due to the not very loving design. Around the castle it is wonderful to stop and take a walk. The catering in the adjoining restaurant is, at least in terms of breakfast, still expandable and not well balanced. The rooms were very spartan and two rooms share a bathroom. This was not made clear to us through the booking and caused initial horror. Only luck that our partner room was not used to our presence. The cleanliness can also be worked on. The cot, which could be booked free of charge, was very dirty and we didn't use it.

Nicely located. The menu was very clear, the food was okay ... could have been served warmer.

Was there for the medieval market. For 8 euros per adult admission, that wasn't worth it. I wanted to have a look at the Heimat Stube, so I had to pay another 2 euros for entry. That's a bit steep. Otherwise nice facility.

Despite the fact that it was busy, this place exudes something calm and cozy. I like coming here with my family.

Disaster bad. Staff completely overwhelmed. In the back of the restaurant you can see the staff sitting and smoking. Price-performance ratio - borderline. Mouth and nose protection has not even heard of this object - the staff walk around there as if there was no Corona. Extremely long waiting times. Creepy. Not recommended - never again. It's a shame that you can't give "0" stars!

I used the Womo parking space here. The people in the castle kitchen were very nice and helpful. You can get breakfast or a packed lunch or rent one here.

Absolutely idyllic and simple like in a fairy tale. Although there is no exhibition or museum, you can rent a room in this manageable castle. If you just want to switch off and enjoy nature, this is the place for you. Anyone looking for an adventure steeped in history is wrong. It's worth taking a look, you don't even need a lot of time. And if you get hungry after your visit there is a restaurant next door.

We went here to eat in the restaurant. Very tasty, great staff and everything cheap, for the great food. We were all full and felt very comfortable in the old walls. Then a walk, wonderful.

Beautifully landscaped palace complex. Parking spaces are available, albeit quickly occupied when the weather is nice. There is an entry point for an independent boat tour on the Freiberg Mulde in the immediate vicinity. Highly recommended. There is a small bistro. The prices are very reasonable and the staff friendly.

Today we had reserved a table for our small 8-person tour group in the restaurant. We were placed on the shady terrace and asked by the very nice waitress about our drink requests. They were with us very quickly. The menu is very good and clear. There is something for every taste. Our starters and main courses were beautifully presented and very tasty. Thanks to the cook. The dear waitress took very good care of us because a glass was never empty. Thanks for that too. All in all, it was a good and nice meal. The Heimatstuben in the castle should also be mentioned. Over 60 years of history have been collected here with a lot of love. I liked that very, very much.

Super food, home cooking, friendly service. Quiet location, also suitable for children

If you are interested in old nostalgic things, you should have visited the Museum of bone muse, many wonderful memories from that time.

A very picturesque castle. We spent 2 nights. The castle was very comfortable and clean. The location is excellent , next to the river. It is very quiet and relaxing. We were there Monday & Tuesday when the restaurant/bar is closed 😖. Breakfast is very good and served in the restaurant. We stayed here while we visited Colditz castle which is a 15 minute drive.

I used this Castle Hotel as a base to go and see Colditz Castle. Located in a very quite area adjacent to a river. Unfortunately the restaurant/bar opposite was shut on Mondays & Tuesday's so I had to search for restaurants for evening meals. The room and bathroom were just fine, clean and tidy but with no curtains so no option but to be woken when the sun rises. The breakfasts were very good and served in the restaurant opposite the Castle. Note the spiral staircase up two flights to the guest rooms. In all, very good value for the money.

Complete Disappointment. The accomodation was fair and reflected in the price. The resturant/bar is closed Monday and Tuesday, so being out in the middle of nowhere you have to travel to eat. Sadly not even a kettle etc in the room to fill this void and felt abandoned by the staff who you couldn't find. However, they did garage our motorcycle, very peaceful location and nice river walk. Wont return.

Great castle to visite. It is next to a river and a restaurante to have a meal.
